Acid Stained floors are available in many colors. Custom patterns can be etched into the concrete for effect.
General Flooring Information
Key ingredients for a long-lasting, beautiful concrete floor covering are preparation, materials, and workmanship. Space Saver Cabinets provides all three.
Flooring “installation” takes place over a 2-3 day period. All floors are acid washed and deep scrubbed. Minor imperfections are patched and repaired. Granite-look will have an orange-peel surface that provides for slip-resistance for the life of the floor. We add a slip-resistant material to the solid epoxy coating as well.
We recommend that you have your cabinets installed prior to flooring application. We will surface up a “lip” around the edges of the flooring for additional moisture/dirt resistance for your cabinets as well as in your garage.
Within 36-48 hours following application of the finish coat, the floor can withstand light foot traffic. Allow more time in very humid weather. Vehicles and heavy objects may be permitted after 4 days. Complete “curing” occurs within 5-10 days. All of our residential floor coating products carry a 3-year warranty against peeling, staining, or defects in materials and/or workmanship.
Typical uses:
An epoxy coated floor is as versatile as it it beautiful. It is recommended for light commercial and residential installations. It is especially suitable for clean room areas, classrooms, offices, storefronts, cafeterias, and bathrooms. Residentially, epoxy coated floors, solid or simulated granite make an excellent garage floor coating. With the addition of a custom installed cabinets, your garage is transformed into a whole new room.
Maintenance:
Damp mopping with clear water is normally all that is required. However detergents and strong cleaners may be used if necessary. Waxing is not required or recommended.
